CONFESSIONS OF AN INSTAGRAMAHOLIC

This is going to be the most superficial and shallow blog post you have ever read, but I don't think there is any point in lying about it. Im certainly not alone when I say I'm an instagramaholic haha. I think that the majority of people my age, live their life through social media, and I don't really see the big deal with it. It's fun, its not harming anyone, and we enjoy Instagram and whatever comes with it.

CONFESSION:
NO INSTAGRAM TO UPLOAD? WASTED TRIP.
What is the point in going to an event if you can't share it and have those memories there for everyone to see? Festivals, holidays and big events are all exciting things that I love to share on my Instagram. Obviously I wouldn't go anywhere just for the sake of the Instagram post, I don't think I'm that addicted yet, but I do see uploading as one of the highlights of going to these things.

CONFESSION:
 THE CONFIDENCE BOOST.
It's really shallow. I know. But uploading a photo and the likes pop off is such a good feeling. Im sorry but almost everyone I know talks about likes as if they are the end of the world. I suppose it is just part of our culture nowadays. Its such a confidence boost when people like your photo because they're probably liking it because they think you look good, or your outfit is nice, or you have cute trainers on. Whatever the reason, it makes you feel good about yourself for a little while haha.

CONFESSION:
 NOT AN OUTFIT REPEATER.
I will never repeat an outfit on the gram.  I love posting photos of my outfits for a night out, or event or something and if the outfit has been posted on Instagram then it can't be posted again. Its not that I can't wear the outfit again, its just that I can't get any pictures for the gram with that same outfit on. I think its just an unwritten rule that everyone follows wether they really think about it or not.

CONFESSION:
LIVING YOUR BEST LIFE.
Now I think that a lot of instagramaholics take this one to the extreme. I understand that on social media, most of the time, people only show the best parts of their lives and all of the exciting things that are happening, rather than the days that are boring or not quite as joyful. However I think that some people take it to the extreme and live a massive lie on social media. Were all 'guilty' of it I suppose, because, like I said, no-one is going to upload a photograph of them hanging from the night before with their crusty fake tan but I don't think it's really anything to be ashamed of. Social media is suppose to be a happy place so I don't think that we all need to see times when people are down. You have friends and family for moments like that and I don't think social media is the right place for that sort of energy. However I do think maybe people should lighten up more and have more fun with instagram. Upload a picture of yourself with 12 chins, or with a bozz eye every once in a while, it might make someones day haha.

This was just a fun, lighthearted post that really pokes fun at the fact we are all a bunch of self obsessed, shallow, influencer wannabes and its as simple as that.

THANK YOU
